I've been wanting to try this place for a while, so today I did. I had the Salmon dish it was good, my friend had the shrimps and lobster dish, she said it was good. It's a different type of restaurant, it looks like a converted garage. You get your food ready made out of heating units which I thought was cool. There are no tables for seating but you can go next door to sit down if you make a purchase there, so that's what I did. I ordered a spiked fruit punch and it was good
The seafood at Puerto Plata is so fresh and mouthwatering! Everything that I have ordered has simply been so delicious and tasty since the first time I ordered. You must try the ceviche and salmon they are awesome! The food is flavorful and keeps you wanting for more. I think I've tried and tasted all the seafood on the menu and they never disappoint!
Their fresh fish is absolutely amazing but the real deal is their seafood platter absolutely the bomb and for the freshness it's a good price my favorites are the seasoned salmon with vegetables and many more
I love puerto plata seafood. I started off with getting platters from this location. It's a pick up location only. Then I went to the seafood location in Nautical Mile. At this location I bought the Poseidon wish I had the pics to show y'all. It was so good & the presentation was top tier even as a pick up order. Picking it up wasn't a hassle.
Delicious seafood with cool staff. A bit confusing but you place your order on one side( owned by the son) and then you go 1 door down ( owned by the dad) and grab your drinks and sides if you want any. Nothing fancy.. no frills.. just some good seafood. Ceviche was awesome too . I even found the restaurant to be a bit intimate. Glad I was able to finally get this off my list.
We ordered a couple seafood trays for pick up. Food was packed very well for travel and unwrapping. It was very easy to put everything out and then clean up. We had a platter with lobster and shrimp and another platter with red snapper and clams. We also got an order of mussels and ceviche. Food was flavorful and the seasoning was not overwhelming.
I've only had food from Puerto Plata once and it was to go. I had to wait over 4 hours to eat it because we had it catered for a Poconos outing. That was a year ago and the food remains on my mind. The service is perfect Beverly and the other waitresses came over to check on us often. We drank. We laughed and oh boy did we eat. I had the chicken chunks fried with bone w/ tostones and a side of garlic sauce. I stole a shrimp off one plate and a corn from another, finally a spoon of mash and I was spent. At the end of the night Rey came over with a hookah and it was perfect! We danced in our seats and at the end of the night we made sure to thank everyone for a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. The drinks were boss! If you want seafood you have to go next door and order then bring it to your seat. They call you when it's ready to be picked up. We didn't mind that at all. It was worth it. Every thing is made with love. Please go it really feels like a homely spot. You won't be sorry - promise
I feel like this is an addiction. How could some buttery garlic sauce be so delicious? To my surprise; the $50 Apollo is very hefty and beyond filling. Definitely was very worth it since it includes a pound of shrimp, 4 crab clusters, and a piece of salmon at the bottom. The salmon was not over cooked at all. I would pass on the mussels though because it was a bit over cooked and the seasoning was just ok. Ceviche is delicious, pretty pricey for a pint but definitely worth the try. The extra butter garlic sauce on the side was the best price I ever paid for. I even used the left over to cook shrimp and salmon. Remember when I started off as an addiction? I've been thinking about it every night and trying to find time to suck up the hour drive (one way) to this place . It's that good.
Went with my Girlfriends to pick up some food. We all ordered the Fulton Tray $60 each with Butter $7, my other Friend also ordered the Seafood Salad $8 and another ordered the Mussels $8. You can not dine in here. Its only pickup and pay. The place is open with ovens against the wall to keep your food warm. Plenty of social distance was enforced as you enter through one door and exit another. There was not a line when we went, so we ordered and paid right away. They accept debit and cash. After our order we proceeded to walk 2 doors down in an enclosed heated Tent that belonged to Puerto Plata Restaurant for drinks. The heated tent was empty so only our group sat to enjoy some drinks. We all ordered Frozen Alcoholic Beverages for $12 bucks a pop. They were pretty strong. The tables were pretty uncomfortable because they're small and round and only literally fit 1 tray and and a drink. They need to fix that. You can not eat seafood with a bunch of butter dripping on a tiny table. I was afraid that I was going to spill something. The flavor of the food is legit and flavorful. The butter garlic is delicious. Their complimentary hot sauce is super spicy but tasty. The Lobster Tails were a little small but you get full with the rest. So its fine. I didn't like the potatoes at all. They were hard. The corn was nice and sweet. I tasted the mussels and they were delicious. The Seafood salad was on point. My friend bought the Seafood Soup Prior and said it was delicious. The waitress Carmen at Puerto Plata Restaurant was super nice and attentive. She made the experience memorable even more so. I highly recommend this place. I cant wait to go back to try different options. The Seafood is fresh here and wrapped nicely and clean. Definitely worth it!
Holy king crab legs, Batman! If you don't have that reaction, after opening a platter package from Puerto Plata Seafood Market, you probably didn't order king crab legs. BUT, you'll still be amazed by all of the wondrous seafood that will be glistening in their own flavourful juices, waiting to be devoured. I used to see my niece post these ridiculous pictures seafood feasts, for every special occasion, and it prompted me to ask here where she acquired all of those crustaceans! She put me on to PPSM, and I went searching to see if we could buy a feast for my MIL, who's birthday was fast-approaching. She LOVES seafood, and I was sure this would be a taste of home, and include all of her favourite things. Unfortunately, they're closed on Tuesdays, which was the day her birthday fell on. My son and I, still very intrigued by the seafood platters that they offer, decided to get one for ourselves to share, so that we might try out the goods. You know, for next time when we try and order for the MIL *wink wink* After stalking their IG account @puertoplataseafood, I found out that they are based in Brooklyn, with their brick and mortar, but they have a food truck that travels uptown, to Dyckman, Wednesdays through Sundays, until 1p! You can order just about any of their seafood trays, and pick them up from the food truck. The food truck even has its own IG account, @puertoplataonthego. You can order through either account, depending upon whether you want to pick up from the food truck at Dyckman, their BK location, or have them deliver to your home. The trays can get pricey but you're getting A LOT of quality seafood, cooked to perfection, along with veggies like, corn, red potatoes, broccoli, string beans, zucchini, and carrots. The prices range from $40, to over $200, depending upon the amount and type of seafood you're getting. They also offer smaller versions of their suped up platters, for around $30. They cook everything really well, too. They're your regular fish market that offers steamed seafood, but on steroids, and the way they handle every ingredient, is with the respect it deserves. Let's be honest....how many of us have had that steam bag of seafood from the neighborhood fish market spot, only to have all the veggie sides, turn to mush? Not with Puerto Plata. Every item is cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. Some of their other items include Sopa Revive Muertos, an awesome looking seafood soup that I'm dying to try, different flavours of flan, steamed mussels, ceviche, and even rawbar oysters! The oysters are only available from their BK location. Let's say you can't get out the house to pick up your sea creatures? Well, they'll deliver! Again, this is an added cost, based upon travel distance from BK, so it would probably serve you to just go ahead, and pick up your order, yourself. My delivery tacked on an additional $38, and while I probably won't have them deliver again, I was still really happy with the food. My son and I ordered the Oceanus, which includes, 1.5 lb king crab legs, 2 snow crab clusters (we counted 3...score!), 2 lb shrimp, 2 pieces of salmon, 2 lobster tails, potatoes, corn, and mixed veggies. We even shared with hubbs and my daughter, and they both enjoyed the seafood, as well. It was outstanding. They pre-cut the lobster tails and king crab legs, so eating them was a lot more fun, without having to wrestle with the shells. I also ordered their hot sauce and garlic herb butter (the truth!), because just about EVERY one of their customers told me to do so, in their reviews. I'm glad we were able to try them out first, because I was going to order one of the huge trays for my MIL, but she would be much better off with one of their smaller versions. Quality seafood, done very well. Period. Go get you some. Thank me later.
